Nestled amid the blooming Gravenstein apple trees of the quaint town of Sebastopol, California lays Apple Blossom Nursery. While considering a name for his Nursery 36 years ago, owner Chuck Sackett felt it only right to name his nursery after the natural beauty that surrounded it – thus was born, Apple Blossom Nursery.
Landscape designer Chuck Sackett, who has won numerous design and landscape awards over the past 36 years of being in business, is passionate about his work. “After 36 years of doing this” he says, “this is still my hobby. How fortunate, that I get to make a living doing this!” Chuck has competed in up to six flowers shows per year, in the professional landscape design category, and has taken top awards in each of them.
Chuck has managed to run his company completely on word of mouth and recommendation for most of his 36 years of being in business. “I make every effort to create in the garden what my clients envision. I get the credit for designing the garden, but in reality, it is the property owner who designs the garden. I just make sure it is going to be to code, practical, and BEAUTIFUL.”
Chuck has lived in the same house for 31 years, has been married to the same woman for 34 years and owned the same Landscape Business for 36 years – “I'm one of the happiest people I know because I can make a living creating my passion for landscapes.”
